Anyone that has been involved in Internet Marketing understands that Traffic is the lifeblood of your Internet Business. Without
it, you stand very little chance of making any sales and therefore making any money. This is the fundamental reason Why 95% of
people who start an online business fail; they don’t know how to get people to their site.
Whilst there are many effective ways of generating Free Traffic to your Internet Business, these can be time consuming and require
a lot of effort. Some of the most effective internet marketers argue that it takes money to make money in this industry and I
would agree…..to a point. It does take money, but it does not have to be a great deal of money!
Many of the most highly ranked, most trafficed and visited sites on the internet, spend vast sums of money on Pay Per Click
advertising, big budget advertising campaigns, professional marketing schemes and gimmicks and so on, to achieve this high level
of traffic. Theu justify this because, after all, they are now highly profitable, top performing Internet Businesses.
For the newbie, or even for the under-resourced internet marketer, the good news is that you can compete on a budget, if you are
smart and know what you are doing. In fact, this should be your recommended course of action because many have been the casualties
in internet marketing who have spent fortunes on advertising methods that have simply not delivered for them and ended up costing
them more than they could afford to lose!
There follows a selection of the FIVE most cost-effective methods of driving traffic to Your Internet Business which I have
personally used to great effect in My Internet Business.
Traffic Exchange
This can be a completely free method of generating traffic to your Internet Business although some sites will require you to spend
a small amount of money. Traffic Exchange works on the principal of Recipricocity. Or to put it another way, “you vist my site and
I’ll visit yours!” This allows both parties to benefit from each others efforts to generate traffic because visitors to the other
site will also have the option to go to your site too. This activity increases the profile of your site which is what it is all
about. It can be a fantastic method of generating traffic and the results may surprise you!

Exchange Links
This is a tried and tested method, guaranteed to produce results! You would have to look very hard to find a website today that
does not show links through to other sites. Most webmasters will exchange links to increase the profile of their site. This means
that for you, it will not be long at all before you notice a sudden and dramatic surge of trafrfic to your site from other sites!
The only thing that you really need to be careful with, is making sure that the sites you exchange links with have the same
niche/area of interest as your site, or can cross sell with you effectively. Doing this will mean that your target traffic is
seeing content that interest them and is relevant. This is a good thing for you.
Remember too, that the beauty of exchanging links is the effect it has on your sites ranking in the search engines. Search engines
rank those sites higher which have incoming and outgoing niche-specific links. Obviously, a better ranking position in the search
engines equals more traffic to your Internet Business without the associated costs of search engine optimisation for example.
Article Writing
Boring I know, but this is a great method and my personal favourite. Write and submit articles to article directories. Some of the
best ones are ezinearticles.com; GoArticles.com, articledashboard.com and articlesbase.com.
If you think you can’t write there are many “ghost-writers” and freelance writers who will write great articles for you at a
reasonable cost. You can of course, write them yourself if you want to, which is my recommendation. This lends more authenticity
and credibility to you. It also is a great way of increasing the visibility of your site, especially if you are writing key-word
rich articles in your niche.
The directories also give you the option to write a “resource box” which is where you can tell the reader a bit about yourself and
include a link to your internet business or blog. If you have written an informative, interesting article, they will visit your
site for more. The key with writing articles is to be consistent. Don’t just write one and leave it there. This has worked really
well for me, give it a go!
Write and Publish a Newsletter.
Not as much hard work as it might sound. You can use the articles you have written, or had written, as great content. Make sure
that you incorporate an opt-in box so you can market to your subscribers on an on-going basis.
Join Lots of Online Communities and Forums
This requires a bit of time and effort but a couple of quick points. Find a forum or group in your specific niche and join it.
Don’t spam the heck out of them, join in and contribute some informative, thoughtful content for a couple of weeks to build trust
and credibility. Then begin to include links to your site and offers. It will not be long before interested, like minded people
are visiting your internet business and you start seeing more traffic and more sales!
Use ALL five of these and I can guarantee you will see a large amount of new prospects visiting your site.
